Uwe Stender has been teaching German at the University of Pittsburgh since 2006. Most recently, his focus in teaching has been on "Indo- European Folktales," "Germanic Myths, Legends, and Sagas," and "New German Cinema." In 2022, he was voted "Best Gen-Ed Professor" by The Pitt News.
Outside of academia, Uwe is the Founder and President of Triada US Literary Agency. Most notably, Triada US represents NYT bestselling authors, Hannah Maehrer (Assistant To The Villain) Olivie Blake (The Atlas Six), Chloe Gong (These Violent Delights), KM Moronova (Leave Me Behind), Newbery Honor winner Rajani LaRocca, actress Melody Thomas Scott (Y&R), Adiba Jaigirdar (The Henna Wars), NPR's Eric Deggans, and 4-time Grammy Award winning composer Lalo Schifrin ("Mission Impossible").
On the film side, Uwe has been working with Amazon Studios, Disney+, and many production companies including Amblin, Bad Robot, and Royal Ties.
